SBE Direct blank UHF RFID labels are delivered without encoding or printing, for companies that manage their marking and identification chain in-house. Available in Standard version (wet inlay) for non-metallic surfaces and On-Metal version for metallic surfaces, they cover all traceability, inventory, and asset management needs. Five standard formats are offered, packaged in rolls of 1,000 labels on a 40 mm core. A catalogue solution, cost-effective and immediately compatible with your industrial RFID printers.
Blank UHF RFID labels: the catalogue foundation for your identification projects

Blank UHF RFID labels are designed for companies that already have their own in-house encoding and printing chain, or that wish to integrate labels into a controlled programming workflow (RFID software, RFID printer, encoding reader).
They are delivered without a programmed EPC and without printing: the user retains full control over serialisation, identifier format, and printed content.
This "blank on delivery" approach is primarily aimed at IT, logistics, and industrial teams that manage their own identification repository. It also makes it possible to standardise a catalogue consumable across several use cases simultaneously, without having to issue a new tender for each new EPC reference. For encoding and printing at source (labels pre-customised at order), a customised UHF RFID range remains available in parallel.
The range consists of two technical families, to be selected according to the surface to be labelled. You can find all RFID traceability solutions in our RFID technology and traceability category.
Standard UHF RFID inlay — wet inlay for non-metallic surfaces

The Standard version features a PET wet inlay construction. It is designed for application on documents, rigid plastic substrates, equipment, furniture, textiles, and any flat, non-metallic surface. Two formats are available: a versatile 53 × 33 mm format featuring the NXP UCODE 9/9xe chip (860–960 MHz band), and a compact 44 × 18 mm format with the same chip, calibrated for the ETSI 865–868 MHz band for European applications.
Standard packaging consists of 1,000 labels per roll on a 40 mm core, compatible with most industrial thermal transfer RFID printers on the market. This version is suitable for high-volume operations, such as asset tagging, equipment identification, and document or container tracking.
Blank on-metal UHF RFID tags — technical PET substrate for metallic surfaces

Metal disrupts the radiation pattern of standard UHF RFID antennas. The On-Metal version incorporates a technical PET substrate 1.2 mm thick, which isolates the antenna from the metallic surface and enables stable, reproducible reading. Three standard formats are available: 55 × 15 mm and 60 × 25 mm fitted with the Impinj Monza R6P chip, and 80 × 40 mm fitted with the NXP U9 / U9xe chip. Each format covers the worldwide 860–960 MHz band.
The On-Metal family targets IT asset management applications (servers, racks, network equipment), industrial maintenance (machinery, tools, moulds), logistics equipment traceability (trolleys, containers, metal bins), and fixed asset management. Packaging is 1,000 labels per roll on a 40 mm core.
Encoding and printing blank UHF RFID labels: full control on the client side

Blank UHF RFID labels are designed to integrate into an encoding and printing workflow managed in-house. In practice, each roll is delivered with unprogrammed chips (EPC memory in factory state) and no printing on the substrate. The user then encodes each label via a compatible RFID printer or encoding reader, and simultaneously prints the required information: serial number, barcode, logo, internal reference.
This approach delivers three concrete operational benefits. First, it eliminates supplier dependency for each series variation: a single catalogue roll can serve multiple projects. Second, it allows alignment of the encoded RFID identifier with your internal repository (ERP, inventory software, CMMS), with no post-delivery mapping step. Third, it reduces procurement lead time, since the labels do not require an industrial customisation phase before dispatch.
If your project instead requires labels delivered already encoded and/or printed (EPC encoding at source, variable black-and-white printing, numbering, barcodes, monochrome logo), the dedicated page for made-to-order customised UHF RFID labels takes over with the same technical foundation (chips, formats, frequencies) and an integrated industrial customisation service before dispatch.
Custom formats: dimensionally customised UHF RFID inlays

Custom formats outside the standard range are available on request for quotation, including in blank version. Manufacturing conditions:
- Minimum quantity: 10 rolls per reference.
- Additional tooling fees: €600 excl. VAT, charged once for the creation of the specific tooling.
- Lead time communicated after validation of the technical specification.
- This option covers requirements for specific formats, alternative chip selection, differentiated technical substrates, or custom memory configuration.

Available blank UHF RFID label formats and references
To meet the varying needs of traceability and identification, SBE Direct offers several UHF RFID label references suited to standard or metallic surfaces. The models presented below represent a selection of the most commonly used formats in asset management, inventory, logistics, and equipment tracking projects.
