What the waterproof laptop case is for
The waterproof laptop case secures a computer and its accessories when the office moves into the field.
It shields the equipment from knocks, water and dust, where a soft sleeve no longer does the job. Its slim profile slides easily into a vehicle or a cabin compartment.
Technicians, maintenance teams and mobile services carry a valuable laptop with confidence. It belongs to the range of waterproof hard cases from SBE Direct.
Waterproofing, impact and temperature of the certified computer case
The computer case uses an open-cell core, solid-wall ABS shell, both rigid and light, weighing 2.48 kg empty and 2.95 kg with foam. The O-ring seal and stainless-steel hardware deliver waterproofing tested by immersion, 30 minutes at 1 m depth. It handles a temperature range from -40 °C to +98.9 °C, from cold-chain logistics to hot environments. Its Def Stan 81-41 and STANAG 4280 certifications confirm performance in line with professional and defence use. Each case carries a lifetime guarantee, excluding the sealing gasket. For heavier loads, look at the wheeled range within the wider hard carrying case offer, including the wheeled range.
Choosing the interior layout of the laptop case
| Interior configuration | Best for | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Computer layout (PC1490CC1) | A dedicated laptop and its cables | Fitted housing and accessories |
| Pre-cut foam (PC1490) | Mixed equipment to cushion | Custom padding, no tools |
| No foam (PCE1490) | A shell you fit out yourself | Free volume, lighter overall |
Rounding out equipment protection in transit
A waterproof case works best with the right security accessories. The two 9 mm rings take a padlock or a seal to trace every opening. For a slightly larger need, the 49x23x39 cm format leaves more room for accessories, while the 36x17x29 cm format suits more compact gear. A microcase protects small, sensitive devices. You will find the exact dimensions and references in the characteristics tab below.
Waterproof laptop case FAQ
What laptop size fits the 50x12x35 case?
The case holds a laptop up to 17.3 inches. Its internal dimensions are 45.1 x 28.9 x 10.5 cm, for an external size of 50.5 x 35.4 x 11.9 cm. This slim format carries a laptop and a few flat accessories without bulk.
Is the laptop case truly waterproof?
Yes. The O-ring seal and ABS shell provide waterproofing tested by immersion, 30 minutes at 1 m depth. The automatic purge valve balances pressure differences after air transport or altitude change, without breaking the seal.
How does it differ from the 51x15x37 cm case?
Both carry a computer, but in a different format. The 50x12x35 is slimmer, at 12 cm deep, made for a laptop and flat accessories. The 51x15x37 is deeper, at 15 cm, with more room for the gear that goes with the computer. Choose by the volume you need to carry.
Can the computer case be padlocked?
Yes. Two key latches lock the case, and two 9 mm rings take a padlock or a security seal. You can trace every opening for the transport of sensitive equipment.
