The waterproof transport case 85×49×62 cm closes on a usable interior of 76 × 53 × 45 cm, with a base almost 35 cm deep. Its HPX resin shell, seven Press & Pull latches and O-ring seal keep water, dust and handling impacts away from the contents. Two stainless steel padlocks lock it without any added accessory, and two reinforced 9 mm rings take a security seal. Certified to MIL-STD-810F, ATA 300 and FED-STD-101C, guaranteed for life, in black or green.

What the impact-resistant waterproof case is built from

  • HPX resin shell - it absorbs loading-bay impacts and repeated handling without deforming.
  • Seven Press & Pull latches - they spread closing pressure along the full lid, with no weak point.
  • Perimeter O-ring seal - it shuts out water and dust once the latches are engaged.
  • Two stainless steel padlocks - locking is built in, with nothing extra to order.
  • Two reinforced 9 mm rings - they take a seal or a cable, and let you anchor the case.
  • Moulded foam or bare interior - cradle the original equipment, or fit out the volume your own way.
  • Reinforced hinges - they carry a lid of this length through daily opening.

What the 85×49×62 transport case carries

This format sits at the top of the waterproof hard cases range, where a single device no longer justifies a dedicated container. The interior measures 75.7 × 52.8 × 45.2 cm, roughly 180 litres of usable space. The base runs to 34.9 cm while the lid offers 10.2 cm, so most of the volume sits low down. A complete set goes in flat - technical unit, measuring instruments, cabling, spare parts - instead of being stacked.

Empty, the case weighs 14.3 kg, and 20.4 kg with its moulded foam. For smaller kit, the 30×20×25 cm case is enough, and the 54×21×41 cm case covers mid-range needs.

Three transport certifications: MIL-STD-810F, ATA 300 and FED-STD-101C

A rugged container and a qualified container are not the same thing. The first holds up because its material is thick; the second because it has been through repeatable tests defined by a published standard and passed them. The difference shows the day a dispute turns on the condition of the equipment on arrival: a cited standard can be relied on, an impression of sturdiness cannot. This case answers three standards, each covering part of the journey.

StandardWhat it qualifiesWhat it changes in practice
MIL-STD-810FUS Department of Defense environmental test methods: shock, vibration, temperature, humidityThe shell has been tested against real road and air transport stresses, not just static strength
ATA 300Air Transport Association specification for reusable shipping containersThe case is designed for repeated freight rotations, not a single one-way trip
FED-STD-101CUS federal standard defining test methods for packaging and shipping containersStated results rest on standardised, verifiable test protocols

Read together, these three standards describe a full chain: what the case endures, the framework it travels in, and how that was measured. The HPX resin also holds a range of −28.9 to +60 °C, from the cold of a hold to full sun on a loading bay.

Stainless locking and customisation of the waterproof transport case

Seven Press and Pull latches and stainless padlock on the ATA 300 certified case

The case closes on two stainless steel padlocks fitted as standard. Its two reinforced 9 mm rings additionally take a security padlock or a padlock seal when transport carries liability: a seal does not block opening, it makes opening visible. The same principle runs through the secure protective cases range - the aim is proof of entry.

On fit-out, four options exist across the range: your logo marked on the shell, custom-machined foam, wall lining that preserves usable volume, and a bare aluminium plate machinable for connectors. The lifetime guarantee covers the shell and its hardware, excluding the sealing gasket.

Frequently asked questions about the 85×49×62 waterproof case

Can this case travel in an aircraft hold?

Its shell is qualified to ATA 300, the Air Transport Association specification for reusable shipping containers. Acceptance in the hold remains the carrier's decision and depends on the declared contents. The standard qualifies the container, not the shipment.

What is the difference between the foam and no-foam versions?

The foam version ships with a pre-cut moulded interior. The no-foam version leaves all 180 litres free. Weight goes from 14.3 kg to 20.4 kg.

Can the case be sealed for transport under liability?

Yes. The two reinforced 9 mm rings take a numbered padlock seal. Any unauthorised opening then leaves a physical trace, checkable on delivery.

Does the case withstand the cold of an aircraft hold?

The HPX resin holds from −28.9 °C to +60 °C. That range covers unpressurised hold conditions as well as outdoor storage in summer.
