The Storm iM2075 is the case for thick equipment: 14.6 cm of depth in the base alone, across a 24.1 x 19.1 cm footprint. An injection-moulded HPX™ resin shell with a ValveVortex™ valve and Press & Pull latches, certified to MIL-STD-810F, ATA 300 and FED-STD-101C. Four versions: black or yellow with pre-cut foam, black or green empty. 1.50 kg empty, guaranteed for life excluding the seal.

A 14.6 cm base: what a deep case changes

Most cases are chosen on their surface area. This one is chosen on its depth. Of the 18.4 cm of usable height in the Storm iM2075, 14.6 cm sit in the base and 3.8 cm in the lid: four fifths of the volume on one side of the seal. A thick item, a camera with its optic fitted, a measuring instrument on its cradle, a power unit, sits at the bottom in one piece rather than being split into two layers. In a case with symmetrical distribution, it does not fit.

The footprint stays modest: 24.13 x 19.05 cm. That unusual pairing, small surface, tall interior, is what defines the iM2075's place among our waterproof hard cases and across the wider transport cases range. The most telling comparison is the 30 x 12 x 25 cm case: same external footprint, half the height. Nothing else separates the two but the thickness of what you carry.

Move up in surface area and the logic reverses: the 36 x 17 x 29 cm case and the 41 x 17 x 32 cm case gain length and lose depth; the 46 x 17 x 21 cm case stretches further still, for equipment laid out flat. Move down and the Microcase range covers the handheld instrument. The iM2075 is not a midpoint in that series: it is the format where height matters more than surface.

HPX resin, ValveVortex, MIL-STD-810F: the Storm Case build

The iM2075 belongs to the Storm Case range, and that shows in three components. The shell is injection-moulded HPX™ resin, a high-performance material that reaches the intended rigidity without the weight: 1.50 kg empty.

The closure uses Press & Pull latches, which open under thumb pressure and lock with a pull, without the double handling of a cam latch. And the ValveVortex™ valve continuously equalises internal pressure, which avoids the suction effect on the way back from a flight or a mountain pass.

Black Peli Storm iM2075 waterproof case, 30x20x25 cm

The rest is environmental endurance: water, impact and dust resistance, reinforced hinges, a -28.9 °C to +60 °C range, and three recorded standards, MIL-STD-810F for environmental testing, ATA 300 for repeated air transport, FED-STD-101C for packaging tests. Those three do not cover the same ground: our article on case certifications separates military standards from ingress protection ratings and sector agreements. One point worth knowing at tender stage: this sheet states no immersion figure and no IP rating, the protection is documented qualitatively, not numerically.

Four versions, and a colour choice that decides the interior

Storm case - 4 color options

This point is specific to this product and worth reading before ordering: the colour determines what is available inside. Black exists in both configurations. Yellow exists only with pre-cut foam (€235.00 excl. VAT per unit), green only as an empty case (€202.00 excl. VAT per unit). A yellow fleet therefore imposes foam, a green fleet imposes packing you build yourself, and only black leaves the choice open. The gap between the two configurations is €33.00 excl. VAT per unit, with quantity breaks at 5 and 10 pieces.

For the empty version, the packing has to be built: foam to cut, dividers, or a reconfigurable partition system, the principle behind the Trekpak partition case, which is rebuilt each time the equipment changes. On a 14.6 cm base that matters: a tall item that is poorly packed works as a lever on the floor of the case at every impact.

Then there is the closure. The padlock eyes take a security padlock or a single-use padlock seal, the latter delivering the tamper evidence a padlock does not provide. Those eyelets are, however, not reinforced: against a pull-off attempt, the decision moves to our safe protective cases. And beyond what is carried by hand, the cases with wheels carry the same build on a rolling chassis.

FAQ

Why choose the iM2075 over a case of the same external size?

For the way the height is distributed. Of 18.42 cm of usable height, 14.61 cm sit in the base and 3.81 cm in the lid. A thick item sits at the bottom in one piece rather than being split either side of the seal. At almost identical external size, the 30 x 12 x 25 cm case offers half that height.

What do MIL-STD-810F, ATA 300 and FED-STD-101C cover?

Three distinct things. MIL-STD-810F is the US defence environmental test standard, vibration, shock, temperature, humidity. ATA 300 qualifies packaging for repeated air transport. FED-STD-101C is a federal packaging test standard. None of the three is a watertightness rating: they are test standards, not an IP classification.

Is the case certified to IP67?

No IP rating is documented in the database for this model, so this sheet states none. The recorded protection is qualitative: water, impact and dust resistant. If your specification requires an enforceable IP rating, ask us for the manufacturer's iM2075 datasheet before ordering rather than relying on a figure borrowed from a neighbouring model.

With or without foam, and does the colour change anything?

It does, and that is specific to this product. Yellow exists only with pre-cut foam, green only without, black in both. Choose foam if the equipment is a single item of stable shape; choose the empty case if the contents change, or if you prefer dividers or a partition system. Budget-wise, foam costs €33.00 excl. VAT more per unit.

Does the format suit a laptop?

No, and this is the one use where the format is poorly placed: the 24.13 x 19.05 cm usable footprint is smaller than a 13-inch machine. For a full workstation, the sheet to look at is the 51 x 15 x 37 cm waterproof case, built for a laid-out surface rather than for height.
