The counter-rotating rollers hazard sign warns of the risk of being drawn in between two rollers turning towards each other. Its triangular shape and yellow background, compliant with ISO 7010, flag the nip point before a hand or a sleeve is caught. It comes in ten materials and two sizes, for fitting on machinery as well as on a wall. Hard-wearing silk-screen print, made-to-measure available.

What the counter-rotating rollers hazard sign marks

It belongs to the warning and hazard signs (yellow), the family of warning triangles.

  • In-running risk - it warns of the nip point formed by two rollers turning in opposite directions.
  • Triangular shape - the safety shape reserved for hazard warnings.
  • Yellow ISO 7010 background - the standardised risk colour, spotted from a distance.
  • Standardised pictogram - understood without text, by operator and maintenance alike.
  • Silk-screen printing - a mark resistant to oils and solvents.
  • Indoor and outdoor fitting - it copes with humidity and temperature swings.

Where to fit a roller hazard sign

Counter-rotating rollers appear on many machines: printing presses, calenders, laminators, rolling mills, mangles, roller conveyors, textile and paper machinery. The danger is the nip point - where the two rollers meet and can catch a hand, a glove or a piece of clothing.

The sign goes as close as possible to that point, on the guard or at eye level in front of the zone, to warn before any intervention. It speaks to the regular operator as much as to cleaning and maintenance staff, often exposed during stoppages.

Yellow ISO 7010 triangle: the hazard code

Safety signage rests on a shape-colour pairing, and the yellow triangle is reserved for warnings. Compliance with ISO 7010 ensures a pictogram identical across Europe, with no room for misreading. This mechanical risk thus takes its place beside the range's other triangles: the electrical hazard, explosive materials or uneven-surface fall risk signs. Each risk has its own symbol, for a reading without ambiguity.

Ten materials and two sizes

On a machine, the backing has to take splashes and cleaning: 3 mm Dibond aluminium (white, gold, brushed) and 4 mm plexiglass are the toughest, while 1 or 2 mm PVC is enough for a wall display nearby.

To apply the pictogram straight onto a guard or a metal part, adhesive vinyl, including a magnetic version is the handiest, and a photoluminescent version exists for poorly lit areas.

Two sizes are offered: 100 × 100 × 100 mm at the workstation and 200 × 200 × 200 mm for a workshop-wide view. It all sits within a wider building signage approach and the people security framework.

Personalise your hazard signage

For a need beyond the catalogue - specific dimensions, an added lock-out instruction or the machine reference - the sign can be made to measure. This signage also connects with the accessories and signage range. For the underlying logic of safety colours and shapes, see the ISO 7010 standard guide, and prepare your artwork before production.

Frequently asked questions about the counter-rotating rollers hazard sign

What does this sign mark?

The risk of being drawn in between two rollers turning in opposite directions - a machine's nip point. The yellow triangle and ISO 7010 make it a warning recognised without hesitation.

On which machines is it used?

Presses, calenders, laminators, rolling mills, roller conveyors, textile and paper machinery - anywhere two rollers meet.

Which materials and sizes?

Ten materials (PVC, Dibond aluminium, plexiglass, vinyls, photoluminescent) and two sizes: 100 and 200 mm per side.

Can it be stuck onto the machine?

Yes. The adhesive vinyls, including a magnetic version, allow direct fitting on a guard; other materials screw or bond nearby.

Can it be customised?

Yes, dimensions and artwork - such as adding the machine reference - can be produced to measure.
