Standard Accessories
A lost key takes a whole workstation out of service. This subcategory brings together the spare master keys for our Safe-Tech locks and the charging cradles for our barcode terminals: one master key that opens every differently keyed lock in a given range, and a cradle that recharges the terminal without tying up its USB cable. Four lock ranges are covered, from tablet mounts to laptop cables. Each master key belongs to its own range: your lock reference decides which key to order.
What Is a Spare Master Key For?
A master key opens the locks of every anti-theft device in the same range, including units supplied keyed differently. A site manager can therefore reach any workstation with a single key, without carrying a bunch of keys or tracking down whoever holds the original.
This is a continuity part, not a convenience. Across a fleet keyed differently, every station has its own key, and every key eventually travels: one absent colleague, one key at the back of a drawer, and the hardware stays locked. The master key restores access immediately, without forcing the lock or replacing the device.
Note: on a first order of at least ten locks from the same range, the first master key is supplied free of charge.
The Four Master Key Ranges Available
Each anti-theft range has its own patented lock, and therefore its own master key. A tablet range key will not open a laptop cable.
- The master key for the Safe-Tech XL 10/13 inch tablet locks opens the locks fitted to tablet mounts holding 10 to 13 inch devices on an articulated base.
- The master key for the Safe-Tech Wedge slot laptop cable covers cables using the 3.2 by 4.5 mm Wedge slot, found on Dell Latitude and compatible laptops.
- The master key for the universal Macbook and laptop anchor applies to tubular key anchors, compatible up to 16 inches.
- The master key for the slim 3-in-1 universal cable opens push-to-lock cables accepting the three slot standards on the market.
Before ordering, take the reference engraved on the lock or shown on the original delivery note: that is what decides the key, not the brand of the computer being protected.
Charging Cradle for Barcode Terminals
The single-position charging cradle for the ScanPal EDA51K terminal fully recharges the device in four hours from an ordinary mains socket. It also acts as a communication point and replaces the supplied USB cable for fixed-station use.
At a picking station or a goods-in counter, the cradle changes the end-of-shift routine: the operator drops the terminal in place instead of plugging a cable, and the device is ready for the next shift. It applies the same principle as the cradles in the RFID range to barcode terminals.
Which Master Key for Which Lock?
The table below matches each anti-theft device to its master key and recalls the slot type involved.
| Criterion | Safe-Tech XL 10/13 inch tablet lock | Safe-Tech Wedge slot cable | Slim 3-in-1 universal cable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hardware protected | 10 to 13 inch tablets and iPads | Laptops with a Wedge slot | Laptops, all slot types |
| Slot type | Articulated base mount | Wedge 3.2 by 4.5 mm | Kensington, Noble Wedge, HP Nano |
| Cable | Steel, 4.4 mm diameter, 2 m | Braided steel, 4.4 mm diameter, 2 m | Braided steel, 5 mm diameter, 1.80 m |
The universal Macbook and laptop anchor, with a tubular key and a 1.5 m cable, has its own dedicated master key as well.
How to Order the Right Reference
Three checks are enough.
- The range first. Tablet mount, Wedge slot, universal anchor or 3-in-1 cable: the four locks are mutually incompatible.
- The configuration next. A master key is only useful on a fleet supplied keyed differently. If your locks are already keyed alike, an ordinary spare key will do.
- The volume last. Beyond ten or so workstations, plan one master key per manager rather than a single one for the whole site.
Where a mixed fleet makes the choice unclear, our technicians identify the lock from your reference and send a quotation within 4 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. It opens every differently keyed lock within one range. A site running both tablet locks and Wedge slot cables needs two separate master keys, one per lock range.
The master key for that range opens the lock without damaging the device or the hardware it protects. That is the whole point of this accessory: no dismantling, no cable replacement.
The master key is tied to the patented lock of the range, not to where it was bought. Send us the reference engraved on the lock and we confirm compatibility before you order.
The single-position cradle is dedicated to the ScanPal EDA51K terminal. Cradles for the Zebra RFID terminals and for the ScanPal EDA52 are listed in the RFID accessories subcategory.
