The MSEC-CL-LOC-BC container bolt seal is the most widely used seal for closing container and lorry doors. An 8 mm steel pin locks into a 20 mm ABS and polystyrene body, for an overall length of 69 mm. Classified grade H under ISO 17712:2013, it meets the high security level defined by the standard. Each seal carries the same number on the pin and on the body. The two parts are packed separately and come together when the seal is fitted; the matching numbers are checked on arrival.

The number is copied onto the shipping documents: delivery note, bill of lading or consignment note. In a dispute, it ties the seal to one shipment and one load.

Fitting and checking the bolt seal in four steps

Check before fitting: inspect the body and the pin, then record the number.
Fit: pass the pin through the locking bars, then push it into the body until it locks.
Record: copy the number onto the shipping documents, against the load concerned.
Check on arrival: make sure the seal is intact and that the pin number matches the body and the documents.
