The storeroom sign puts the information where it works, on the door or at the entrance of the area. It belongs to the blue range of mandatory and information signs.

The color code is not a design choice. Corporate signage follows the ISO 7010 standard: blue carries information and obligations, red covers prohibition and fire, and green marks evacuation. Staff and visitors read the sign at a glance on every site.

Choosing your storeroom sign: material, size, fixing

The mounting surface drives the material choice. On a door, PVC 1 or 2 mm screws or glues on. On racking or a metal cabinet, 0.8 mm magnetic vinyl fits and refits without drilling: handy when the stock layout changes. In a basement or a corridor without emergency lighting, the photoluminescent version stays legible in the dark. Outdoors, on a loading bay or outbuilding, 3 mm aluminium dibond withstands the weather. 4 mm acrylic suits public-facing areas.

The screen-printed wording holds up against oils and solvents, including in workshop environments. The sign carries a 1-year guarantee and is sold individually. Size-wise: 100 x 30 mm on a door, 200 x 60 mm in a corridor, 300 x 100 mm where reading happens from afar.

Premises signage: labelling every room on site

The storeroom is never the only space to name. The housekeeping room sign marks cleaning areas, and the bicycle parking sign covers staff amenities. For offices, floors, and common rooms, the grey range of signposting signs on premises handles room-by-room identification.

Which material suits racking or a metal cabinet?

0.8 mm magnetic vinyl. It fits without drilling or glue and moves when the stock layout is reorganised. On a smooth non-metal surface, self-adhesive vinyl plays the same role.

Does the blue background of the storeroom sign follow a standard?

Yes. Under ISO 7010, blue carries information and mandatory instructions. This colour code separates the storeroom sign from prohibition signs (red) and evacuation signs (green).

Can "Storeroom" be replaced with an in-house term?
