The white dry riser sign marks the location of a dry riser to guide the emergency services in the event of a fire. Its white-background version suits light signage schemes and puts the wording to the fore, while staying compliant with ISO 7010. It comes in ten materials and three sizes, for indoor as well as outdoor fitting. Hard-wearing silk-screen print, fixing by screw or adhesive, made-to-measure available.

What the white dry riser sign marks

It belongs to the prohibition and warning signs (red), dedicated to safety instructions and fire prevention.

→ Emergency landmark - it shows the presence and location of a dry riser.
→ White background version - red text and pictogram on white, for clear signage.
→ ISO 7010 compliant - standardised graphic symbols and safety colours.
→ Silk-screen printing - a mark resistant to oils and solvents.
→ Indoor and outdoor fitting - it copes with humidity and temperature swings.
→ Made to measure - dimensions and artwork adaptable on request.

What dry riser signage is for

A dry riser is a fixed pipe installed in buildings with upper floors or basements, which firefighters connect to in order to carry water to the levels that need protecting. But it has to be found fast: that is the sign's job. Placed right next to the inlet, at eye level and clear of any obstruction, it saves precious time during an intervention. In a building fitted with a dry riser, this signage contributes to the fire safety of the whole site.

White or red background: which version to choose

This page is the white-background version. The conventional fire-signage scheme rather pairs white text with a red background: if your signage plan follows that code, choose the red-background dry riser sign. The white background, on the other hand, blends into light-toned signage and makes the wording stand out. To mark the connection point rather than the riser itself, look at the dry-riser inlet sign; and for a charged (wet) system, the wet riser sign completes the set.

Ten materials and three sizes for every environment

The sign is chosen to match the surface and exposure. For ordinary indoor use, 1 or 2 mm PVC is enough; for a façade or a plant room, 3 mm Dibond aluminium (white, gold, brushed) and 4 mm plexiglass hold up better. Adhesive vinyls (white, magnetic, photoluminescent) allow quick or repositionable fitting, and the photoluminescent version stays visible during a power cut. Three sizes are available - 100 × 30, 200 × 60 and 300 × 100 mm - to match the reading distance. This signage sits within a wider accessories and signage approach and the people security framework.

Personalise your safety signage

Beyond the standard sizes, the sign can be made to measure: specific dimensions, a column number, a directional arrow or your logo. For the full logic of safety colours and shapes, see the ISO 7010 standard guide, and prepare your artwork carefully before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

What does this sign mark?

It shows the presence and location of a dry riser, the device firefighters connect to in the event of a fire. Compliance with ISO 7010 makes the landmark immediately understandable.

What is the difference with the red-background version?

Only the background changes: white here, red on the other model. The red-background version follows the conventional fire-signage colour code; the white background suits a light-toned signage scheme.

Which materials are available?

Ten: 1 and 2 mm PVC, 3 mm Dibond aluminium (white, gold, brushed), 4 mm plexiglass, 1 mm photoluminescent, white vinyl, photoluminescent vinyl and magnetic vinyl.

Can it be fitted outdoors?

Yes. The silk-screen print resists oils and solvents, and several materials suit outdoor fitting. The sign screws or bonds into place.

Can it be customised?

Yes: dimensions, an added number or arrow, and artwork can be produced to measure on request.
