What the do not use on gas flame sign is for
The do not use on gas flame sign warns of an ignition risk when a product or device must not come near a flame or a gas fire. Fitted near the point concerned, it recalls the ban before any action.
Workshops, professional kitchens, laboratories and industrial sites use it to prevent accidents. Its red pictogram is understood without reading, including by an international audience.
It belongs to the range of prohibition and warning signs from SBE Direct.
Materials and fitting of the red prohibition sign
The material of the red prohibition sign depends on the location. Indoors, PVC 1 or 2 mm is enough and stays cost-effective. Outdoors or in an exposed workshop, aluminium Dibond 3 mm and Plexiglas 4 mm last longer. The photoluminescent version stays visible during a power cut. Self-adhesive or magnetic vinyl fits quickly, with no drilling. Each sign is screen-printed and carries a one-year guarantee, within the wider building signage.
Choosing the format of the do not use on gas flame sign
| Location | Recommended material | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Indoor door or wall | PVC 1 to 2 mm | Light and cost-effective |
| Outdoors or busy area | Aluminium Dibond 3 mm | Resists UV and weather |
| Area without light | Photoluminescent 1 mm | Stays visible without power |
| Flat or metal surface | Self-adhesive or magnetic vinyl | Quick fitting, no drilling |
Rounding out the site's prohibition signage
A prohibition fits into consistent safety signage. On gas circuits, pair the general gas shut-off sign and the gas tank sign to locate controls and storage.
On the intervention side, the emergency stop sign rounds out the marking. The whole set keeps the same colour code and standard.
