RFID technology allows data to be read and transmitted without visual contact. At the heart of this system, RFID readers play a key role: whether portable, fixed, USB or integrated into a gun, they ensure the rapid detection of RFID tags, even at a distance, and in complex environments.
We offer you a complete range of UHF, HF, LF or NFC RFID readers, compatible with your badges, cards or inventory labels. Our models cover all needs: access control, logistics tracking, mobile inventories or RFID tag encoding. This equipment, robust and simple to configure, is tested in real conditions to guarantee reliable, fluid and secure reading.
Coupled with our RFID labels, printers and SAM software, our RFID readers are integrated into a global traceability solution, designed to make your business processes more reliable and increase productivity.

The RFID reader is the key element of any RFID system. It allows the information contained in an RFID chip to be read directly, without visual contact, even through certain materials or several meters away. With this technology, you improve the reliability of your inventories, the security of your access and the fluidity of your operations.
At SBE Direct, we offer a wide range of RFID readers for all uses: from the portable UHF model, perfect for mobile inventories, to the USB reader for office use, including long-range readers or all-in-one terminals. These tools are designed to adapt to your field constraints, your activity volumes and your demanding environments.
An RFID reader sends a radio signal which activates RFID chips placed on labels, badges or cards. These chips send back their data, which the reader picks up immediately. Depending on the frequency used (LF, HF, NFC or UHF), the reading distance varies from a few centimeters to several meters.
Some models also allow data to be written to the RFID chip (such as a serial number, product code or date). We then speak of reader-encoders, very useful in logistics or industry.
The choice depends on your location, your needs and the chips you use. Here are the large families available:
Types of RFID readers offered:
The proper functioning of your system also depends on the compatibility between the RFID reader and the RFID tags used.
UHF (Ultra High Frequency) chips are ideal for remote and volume reading, such as in warehouses or logistics. HF (High Frequency) and NFC chips are recommended for proximity objects, access badges or sensitive equipment. As for LF (Low Frequency) chips, they are suitable for metallic, humid or complex environments.
Choosing your RFID reader wisely also means understanding the characteristics of the RFID chip you are using.
RFID technology adapts to all sectors. Our RFID readers are tested in real conditions to guarantee their proper use and ease of use.
Examples of concrete applications:
Industry & logistics: rapid inventories, parts tracking, tool traceability.
Distribution & retail: automated stock management, anti-theft, rapid restocking.
Health & hospitals: patient identification, monitoring of medical equipment.
Education & administration: access control by badge, library management.
Construction & construction sites: traceability of sensitive materials, team reporting.
Events: RFID ticketing, VIP access, connected bracelets.
Thanks to their diversity of formats (portable, fixed, USB, long range, etc.) and their compatibility with the main RFID chips (UHF, HF, NFC), RFID readers adapt to the specific needs of each sector. Whether to improve security, speed up inventories, track equipment or streamline access, they provide a concrete and effective response to your field issues. The adoption of RFID technology then becomes a strategic lever to gain reliability, time, and peace of mind on a daily basis.
All our RFID readers are designed to work in synergy with our personalized RFID tags, our industrial or office RFID printers, as well as our SAM management software – SBE Asset Manager.
You thus benefit from a complete and coherent RFID ecosystem to manage your assets, automate your flows, make your data more reliable... with ease, thanks to an RFID reader adapted to your needs.
