The standard T2 seal closes a security pouch in one move and never reopens: two teeth engage inside the body of the seal, and the only way to free the pouch is to break it. Supplied by the box of 500 in five colours, it equips a sealing station without going through a customisation order.

Supplied by the box of 500, with no customisation threshold

The standard T2 seal is ordered by the box of 500, with no volume commitment. This is where it parts company with the personalised T2 seal: the customised version unlocks variable numbering, barcodes and company names, but starts at 10,000 seals and takes three to four weeks to manufacture. The standard version ships from the running catalogue. A site sealing twenty pouches a day does not need to commit to a yearly order to be equipped.

That small-quantity logic changes how a sealing station is organised. One box covers, for instance, an internal mail shuttle carrying two items a day for close to a year, or a retail cash lift over several months. Replenishment happens shade by shade rather than by full batch.

The five colors of the standard T2 recycled plastic seal: white, red, blue, yellow, orange.

The five colours are not replenished at the same pace. Availability is shown variant by variant, immediately above the order button. If your procedure requires a specific colour, check that availability before committing the written instruction.

Two teeth in a brittle body: where the evidence comes from

The seal stands 22 mm tall, with a 12.5 x 12 mm plate and 2 mm thickness. Locking relies on two teeth that engage inside the body of the seal. Once the stem is pushed home the mechanism is one-way. To free a universal secure pouch or a secure cash bag, the seal has to be broken, and the break stays visible.

That is exactly what a security seal is for: it does not resist a tool, it provides evidence. The question is not whether the closure can be forced, but whether an opening can go unnoticed between sender and recipient. The crystal polystyrene body serves that purpose: the material is rigid and brittle, whitening and splitting rather than yielding elastically.

In practice the chain of evidence rests on two gestures. At closing, the operator records the seal on the docket; on arrival, the recipient checks it is intact before breaking it. A broken seal does not necessarily mean wrongdoing - it flags a control point to open. That exception-based traceability is what makes the system usable in a dispute file, on a secure cash transport bag as much as on a high-security envelope for confidential documents.

Recycled plastic, antimicrobial protection and colour coding

The body is moulded in 100 % recycled plastic, with an antimicrobial protection that Versapack presents as built into the material rather than applied to the surface. The distinction matters for a consumable handled with bare hands: a surface treatment fades with friction, whereas a charge dispersed through the mass does not depend on renewal. Request the manufacturer's technical data sheet if your specification calls for a precise characterisation of that function.

The benefit is situational, not universal. On a pouch travelling between a care unit and a laboratory, or between several operators on the same round, the seal is one of the few items everyone touches. On an administrative document run the recycled plastic is what carries weight in the procurement file.

Five colours are referenced: white, red, blue, yellow and orange. The colour code has no mechanical effect - it serves the procedure, with one shade per department, per collection day or per confidentiality level. Each colour carries its own reference, including on made-to-measure carriers such as customised bags, cases and envelopes. If your procedure calls for a wider seal to be handled with gloves, compare it with the standard button seals and with the universal secure pouch with gusset.

FAQ - standard T2 seal

Can a T2 seal be reopened without breaking it?

No. The two-tooth locking is one-way: once the stem is pushed home it does not travel back. The only way to free the pouch is to break the seal, and that break is visible to the naked eye. It lets the recipient establish, with no tool and no expertise, whether a container arrived closed.

What is the difference with the personalised T2 seal?

The mechanism and dimensions are identical. The customised version adds marking: sequential numbering, barcode or company name. It starts at 10,000 units, with three to four weeks of manufacturing. The standard version is ordered by the box of 500, unmarked and with no production lead time.

How many seals do I need to order to get started?

One box of 500 is enough. That is the minimum packaging and there is no additional order threshold. To size your stock, count one seal per pouch closure plus a margin for accidental breakage in transit.

Does the seal fit every security pouch?

It is used on pouches, bags, cases and envelopes fitted with an eyelet or an opening suited to a 22 mm stem with a 12.5 x 12 mm plate. Check the opening diameter on your model before ordering in volume: it is the only genuinely blocking compatibility criterion.

What is the antimicrobial protection for?

It aims to limit microbial growth on the surface of the seal, a part handled by everyone along the chain. The argument is relevant on healthcare, food and multi-operator flows. On an administrative document run, the 100 % recycled plastic is the real differentiator.
